Show Me Shorts Film Festival presents the StarNow Short Film Seminar in Wellington on Monday November 12th. Open to the public this seminar is especially suited to those who are interested in short filmmaking and is an opportunity to meet experienced filmmakers, see some great shorts and learn about the work that has gone into the filmmakers’ projects.
Here is a selection of the panelists:
Susan is a Kiwi living in Australia since 1996, where she works as a multi media designer, writer and animator. Her film ‘Valmay the Visitor from Beep Beep Beep’ is screening at this year’s Show Me Shorts festival and Susan will join our seminar panel to enlighten us about animation production and story telling.
Simon is the writer and director of ‘Ollie’ which has won many awards, including ‘Best Short Film 2011′ at the Twain Harte International Film Festival in California. Having directed music videos and worked on TV productions, Simon will give us a great insight into the nuts and bolts of production, and the joys and challenges of producing his own stories and getting his vision to the big screen.
Facilitator: Catherine Fitzgerald
Catherine needs no introduction but still we would like to say how pleased we are to have the producer of ‘Two Cars, One Night’, ‘Rain of the Children’ and ‘The Orator’ to guide our panelists through their stories.
More presenters to be announced, check www.showmeshorts.co.nz/workshops for updates. The StarNow Short Film Seminar will be followed by networking drinks at the cinema. Thanks to the New Zealand Film Commission for their support.
