Show Me Shorts has two major opening night events, one in Auckland where our award winners are first announced, and one the following week in Wellington to launch our season there. A limited number of tickets to these events are available to the public, so get in quick. This is your chance to see all of the award-winning films, meet festival organisers, and mingle with the winners and film industry guests.
The festivities for each of the opening night events will begin with complimentary ice cream from Rush Munro’s and a glass of Soulo wine, thanks to these new festival partners. All of the award-winning films in each of the nine categories will be played after the winners are announced (although if a film wins in multiple categories, it will only screen once). This is the only chance for you to see all these films grouped together in one session.

This glamorous sold out, night out for the short film industry is where the winners of the 2012 Show Me Shorts awards were announced, and the prizes presented. Each award winning short film was be screened for the audience. See Awards for more details.
Tickets were $20 and included a glass of wine from Soulo and ice cream from Rush Munro’s.
All ticket holders are also invited to join us afterwards, for celebrations with the winners and a chance to meet festival organisers and industry professionals.
