Join the board of New Zealand’s leading short film festival

We are seeking one new Trust Board member to join our small but dedicated team of people who are passionate about film and New Zealand’s creative community.

About Show Me Shorts Film Festival:

Show Me Shorts is New Zealand’s leading short film festival: celebrating excellence in short film making; connecting audiences with quality short films; and fostering the New Zealand short film community. Show Me Shorts is a prestigious Academy Award®-qualifying festival, Show Me Shorts is now entering its eleventh year and continuing to experience increased profile and audience growth.

Desired attributes of our new Trust Board member:

  • Clear understanding of governance functions and principles
  • Experience working within the film industry at a senior level
  • A wide network of contacts, with the ability and desire to utilise them for the benefit of the festival
  • Strategic thinker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

We would prefer someone who also appreciates short film and values celebrating excellence, connecting our community and cultivating an internal culture of innovation.

Commitment required:

Trustees are expected to offer three to four hours a month for governance matters as required, including participating in quarterly board meetings and key festival events in Auckland. The festival takes place in November each year. Quarterly board meetings usually take place on a Thursday evening.

Show Me Shorts Film Festival Trust is a charitable organisation, and being a Board Member is an unpaid position.
