We are delighted to be working alongside Sesame Workshop’s Films Department to give New Zealand filmmakers the opportunity to pitch a short film idea for Season 50 of Sesame Street!

German Short Film Night – Auckland

Show Me Shorts presents a night of German short films on 14 August at The Kingslander in Auckland. Join us to celebrate the cinema of Germany with a fun collection full of variety – comedy, fantasy, documentary, pianists, escaped bears and three brothers in a bathtub.

Polish Short Film Night

Show Me Shorts presents a night of Polish short films on 17 July at The Kingslander in Auckland. Join us to celebrate the cinema of Poland with a lively collection full of variety – animation, drama, documentary, love, murder, acrobats and gossip.

New Zealand shorts in Taiwan

Show Me Shorts is more than a festival, we advocate for the short film art form and the short film community. We are excited to present a selection of top short films from New Zealand at Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Film Festival 2016, which starts next week.

2016 awards finalists announced!

We’re pleased to announce and congratulate the awards finalists for 2016! Winners will be announced, and prizes will be presented for nine award categories, including the Oscar®-accredited Lightbox Best Film Award and Best International Film Award. The winners will have their films screened at the Opening Night & Awards Ceremony at Auckland’s Civic Theatre on 1 October.

Screening at Splore Feb 20-21!

Show Me Shorts is proud to be presenting 7 great kiwi shorts at this year’s Splore festival of art, music, and culture. These films touch on the common theme of home and our comings and goings from it. They are suitable for all ages and will be screening at Splace on Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm.
