Argentine Short Film Night

Show Me Shorts presents a night of Argentine short films. Join us to celebrate the cinema of Argentina, with a fun collection full of life – comedy, drama, animation, nuns, irrisistible desserts and beautiful ideas.

When: 7pm, Tuesday 15 May

Where: The Kingslander, 470 New North Road, Kinglsand, Auckland

Tickets: $15 from Eventbrite here (cash door sales only available if not sold out prior)

There are seven short films by top Argentinian filmmakers:

  • Clausura (Cloistered) – by Jesus Barbosa
  • Un Instante (An Instant) – by Gisela Pelaez
  • Payada Pa Satan – by Antonio Balseiro & Carlos Balseiro
  • Superdulce – by Matias Guillan & Guido Villaclara

This is an informal and fun event, and all are welcome. The screening takes place in the upstairs function room at The Kingslander. All films screen in the Spanish language with English subtitles. Total fun time is approx. 82 minutes. No allocated seating, so first in best dressed. The bar will be open with food and drink available for purchase.

FAQs

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, just your name and email confirmation is fine.

What are the best transport/parking options?

The Kingslander is a very short walk from Kingsland train station. There is street parking available, but make sure to allow time to find a park. Some of the parking on New North Road is pay and display.

Will there be door sales?

Previous events have sold out online before the night so it is recommended to pre-book. If online sales do not sell out there may be limited door sales. Door sales are cash only.

Are the seats allocated?

Allocated seating is not available, so come early for the best seats. The bar will be open with food and drink available for purchase.

Are there subtitles?

All films screen not in the English language will screen with English subtitles.

Can I bring children?

The films are rated M – Violence & offensive language (suitable for mature audiences aged 16yrs+). Children under 18yrs must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
