Show Me Shorts has teamed up with accounting specialists The Hive to offer a workshop demystifying tax and book-keeping in the film industry.
This workshop is designed to help creative freelancers and small business owners working in the film industry. If you need a bit of guidance about getting things started, or want a refresher to make sure you’re accounting for things correctly then this is for you.
In this interactive workshop we will learn how to avoid common mistakes in business, and find out what you can legitimately claim back from the tax man. Just some of the things we will touch on:

Hosted by accounting experts with a special interest in the film industry, in a fun and interactive format, using language that you can understand without the jargon.

The presenters are Adrianne Leslie and Shradha Gupta – Directors of The Hive Accounting Limited, Rocket Bookkeeping Services and The Hive Learning Limited, Xero Certified Gold Partners.
A qualified CPA and Chartered Accountant, Shradha’s an advocate for small businesses and contractors, while managing the Annual returns, with her staff of 5, for hundreds of businesses big and small. Tax compliance is second nature to her.
35 years experience as an Office Manager and Accounts Administrator for corporates in New Zealand such as TV3, Foote Cone and Belding, Hallensteins and Orcon to name a few before launching her own successful bookkeeping business on the North Shore. Now she’s passionate about Business Advisory and changing the face of accounting and getting business owners off on the right foot.
